Visiting Rincón, Puerto Rico – A Little Bit of Paradise

The more I visit my little island, the more I fall in love with it. It’s such a perfect place in every way possible. This time, my family and I decided to stay in Rincón – a beach town on Puerto Rico’s west coast, which is best known for surfing and sunsets. It has a completely different vibe from the rest of the island and that's not a bad thing at all. It’s just more peaceful and quiet. I’m pretty laid back and value places that are chill, which is why I will forever recommend visiting Rincón. It’s also slowly becoming a top destination in Puerto Rico. Besides, why wouldn’t you want to visit a place that’s literally known for its beautiful sunsets and amazing twilight colors? It also has a bit of a groovy, hippie feel. The town is full of art, RVs, and campers. Thinking about exploring this beautiful American territory, specifically Rincón? Here are some ideas:

Beach, Beach, Beach & more Beach

Sandy beach is one of the most popular beaches and hangout spots in the town of Rincón. It’s also a great option for those who enjoy surfing. The town also offers private surfing lessons all over, filled with cute Airbnb’s giving you that beachy, getaway vibe. If you’re a morning person and enjoy watching the sunrise – Sandy Beach is great. I was able to find a couple of smoothie joints around as well – the absolute perfect way to start my day after watching the beautiful sunrise. On the other hand, if you’re looking to visit a chill beach with no waves, I recommend visiting Playa Doña Lala Beach. Perfect for a day in the water or on the sand!

Be Creative

As mentioned above, virtually every beach in Rincón offers spectacular sunset views making it the perfect spot for pictures. Make time for creativity. You don’t have to have the “artist” title. All those people who bash others for not being “artists” are just unhappy with their lives. Art is the expression of the mind. In addition, did you know a creative activity, such as crafting, can help focus the mind and has even been compared to meditation due to its calming effects on the brain and body? So, take time to be creative because it’s actually good for you. Whether this includes taking pictures, painting, or journaling – I implore you to get those creative juices flowing!

Rincón Plaza

Rincón’s town plaza is just what it sounds like. A strip full of numerous restaurants, bars, handcrafted art, and stores. It’s also a short walk from Playa Doña Lala Beach. Make sure to come here if you’re looking for great food and art.

Yoga at the Beach

The beautiful ocean views, sunrises, and sunsets make Rincón a perfect place for yoga. In addition, doing yoga at the beach is overall great for you. It deepens your relaxation, allows you to connect with nature, and yourself. The sea air and vitamin D are also really good for you. Do yourself a favor a take a yoga class or practice on your own – you won’t regret it.

Wake up Early & Journal at the Beach

As you may know, journaling offers many benefits, and journaling at the beach is even better. I truly believe that being surrounded by nature and listening to the sounds of the tropical waves has the ability to spark your creativity. I recommend watching the sunrise and journaling at the same time. It’s simply magical. Make sure you don’t bring too much stuff as this adds stress! I would bring water, your journal / creative essentials, and a beach blanket – also sunscreen!

As always, I like to keep my blogs short and sweet for you guys. I hope you enjoyed my list. If you have any questions or comments about Puerto Rico, Rincón, or anything else – leave them below!
